More on Charlie...
Apr. 21st, 2001 08:24 amfor those of you with no knowledge of automobiles, and no imagination, here's a description of my new car.
it is a 1984 Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight Regency Brougham, in blue-black. It features a 454 cubic inch V-8 engine with a four-barrel carbuerator, rear-wheel drive, working heat and AC, a split bench in front. It's got room for six passengers, seven if you squish, and also has new speakers in the back that actually provide pretty good sound. Also, it's huge. A full twenty-five inches longer than the 1985 version. The dimensions are as follows:
length: 221.1 inches
Wheel base: 119 inches
width: 76.3 inches
Height: 57.2 inches
trunk: 20.5 cubic feet (wow)
and a weight of 3927 lbs.
that's nearly two tons, folks.
She can really move, too, and handles pretty well for something that BIG. And, it being a luxury sedan, it provides a nice smooth ride and features power windows!
Yessir, if I were to wind up living in a car, this is the one I'd chose.
It originally retailed for something around $15,000.00 base price, no features... that was in 1984, mind you. I purchased this car for $200.00. Consider inflation for a moment, and then congratulate me.
