Living with a younger roommate is interesting. He's quite a bit younger than I am, 22, and it's funny because he buys energy drinks in boxes and eats frozen foods. He listens to newer music, of course, and one of the songs he played for me (I think it was by Anti-Flag) was "Fuck Police Brutality." Fuck Police Brutality? Of course, nobody likes police brutality. That's like writing a song called, "fuck people that squash kittens with hammers," or "fuck natural disasters that destroy my home."
It just seems to me that twenty-five years ago, the attitude was "Fuck Police," and now it seems it's been watered down to, "Fuck the police if they happen to step over the line of legality. Please, thanks." And that makes sense... there's just not as much to be angry about anymore.
I swear to god, brining is the only way to guarantee perfectly moist, perfectly delicious pork chops every time. I brined and baked pork chops tonight with rosemary, and they were delicious. Next time, though, I'll brown them before baking, just to get some of that delicious brown crusty goodness on the outside.
