There's a hissing torrent of rain falling outside, and it reminds me of singapore. There's a small river running down the alley right now, making channel beds and oxbows and sandbar islands in the fallen leaves. The queer yellowish light of a storm is shining in through my window, making it a collection of swirling yellow shapes and umber shadows... very romantic, very pretty.

Of course, sometime between the walk in from my car and now, the temperature seems to have dropped by ten degrees.

Sometimes storms, like people, look much nicer than the reality.

For the last two days, I've felt some undefineable craving or hunger that nothing I eat seems to make a dent in.

I made chicken parmigiana tonight, no breading. It was fabulous, but now I feel guilty about eating all that cheese. My room is a mess. The kitchen is a mess. This is funny, because I just cleaned the kitchen on sunday... but when you make sauce, pound and pan-fry chicken, and grate cheese, there's bound to be a little shrapnel. I'll do the dishes after House.

Stuff sucks for a lot of people right now. I am not one of those, really. I have a little bitty fortune in my checking account, despite my free-spending ways. Not eating out and not going to the bar (much) has saved me a ton of money. I have a sound dwelling, a belly full of succulent chicken and homemade ragu, some little four-footed friends, and two hours of television to indulge in tonight.

I AM feeling a little down, though. Not sure why.

Fucking fuck! House isn't on!

The one thing I look forward to on these interminable Tuesdays, and it's apparently much more important to show reruns of King of the Hill and fucking Family Guy!

I cleaned the kitchen and myself. I ordered my dress for the holiday party. I still need to clean the litterbox.

We're voting on a new health plan at work. It's more expensive but looks much better. I hope it gets voted in.

I might bring in my chicken parmagiana leftovers to work for Scott and Laurie tomorrow night, to get rid of the leftovers.
