Hi, everyone!
Aug. 3rd, 2008 06:00 pmI picked up Morningstar Farms meatless hotwings today when grocery shopping. They're disappointingly small and not quite spicy enough for me, but very very tasty. They're only 200 calories a serving (five "wings") so you could eat a few more for a meal. For dinner tonight, I had seven "wings" and a romaine salad with sundried tomatoes and bleu cheese crumbles. Quite tasty.
I renewed my drivers license yesterday and have taken great pleasure in showing off the old and new pictures side by side. I now have photographic evidence that I have a neck! And JUST ONE CHIN! Fabulous.
Losing forty pounds has been wonderful. Even though I'm not done yet, I have been feeling very retrospective about the whole thing, and not only am I smaller and prettier now, I am healthier, and I feel much better. I am also much happier, but that happened long before I actually lost the weight. I suspect that had more to do with the process of taking control of my situation than actually losing any weight.
I've learned a lot as well, about food and nutrition and things, which I'm very interested in. These are skills that will last me my whole life through and I'm very glad I had the opportunity and motivation to learn them. Should I ever wind up having children, I feel that I am now much better equipped for teaching good eating habits as well.
I'm going to start working toward an hour on the bike and hope to be there by mid-month. I know it's only fifteen minutes, but you know it's the last fifteen minutes that's the hardest. I did skip my workout today as I walked three miles or so, but I think that's okay. What I've read on the subject asserts that it's better to do a variety of exercises throughout the week, so giving up a day of cycling for walking is not cause for alarm, I think.
I do wish I had my car back. Soon, soon.
