Still so hot. Apparently the hottest day of the summer must conclude with the most gorgeous sunset ever bestowed on mankind.
There's a lightning fire warning posted on wunderground.com, apparently there're lightning storms building up and there's concern that dry vegetation will catch easily.
I just wish the apartment would cool down. The problem being that all the windows in the apartment are on one side of the building. But at least it's cooler inside than it is in the hallway. Loki doesn't even really want to play.
I made tacos for dinner because it seemed like the thing I could cook that would add the least heat to the already sweltering apartment.
I'm exhausted after several days of less-than-adequate sleep, so I'll try to get to bed early tonight.
Since Josh isn't home playing online video games, I've taken the opportunity to torrent a little. It seems discourteous to do so when he's engaged in an activity with such high bandwidth requirements.
I'll sleep with my hair braided tonight, if I don't it will stick to my sweaty skin and tangle and be hot.
Cassie is snuggled on the bed with her ears pricked up, watching Animal Planet. It's been so long since we had TV, I forgot how much she liked it.
The pothos in their pots must think they're back home in the jungle. They're stretching out their glossy, spade-shaped leaves toward the window, and drooling little drops of water from the tips of their leaves. Happy plants. In singapore, we saw pothos growing rampant outside, up the sides of trees and buildings, pothos with leaves bigger than dinner plates. My Mom nudged me and said, "look, houseplants, growing outside!"
