Pie one is in the oven... it's pumpkin. I made a graham cracker crust, coz mike likes 'em so much, and I made it extra thick. Once it's done, I think it's time for a break before I tackle pie two (blueberry, pastry crust) and the compound butter.
One of the meyer lemons made enough zest to flavor the bechamel for the green beans; I tasted it, and it's like a little bit of heaven. Once the pie comes out of the oven I might use the lemon in question to make myself a little lemonade.
I'll use the other meyer in the blueberry pie! Yum. Actually, I think blueberry pie would be good with a little rosemary in it too. Too bad I don't have any rosemary.

(And a Chicken and Rice dish for eatin' tonight.)

Date: 2007-11-22 07:09 am (UTC)I didn't do cheesecake because it's very needy in the oven (water baths and cooling stages and whatnot) and the ingredients are so expensive.
The people you're feeding are very lucky indeed.
