Recipe Exchange.

Hell, why not? I know some pretty good cooks.

You have been invited to be part of a recipe exchange!

Please comment with a recipe -preferably something quick,
easy, and with few ingredients, but any good recipe will do.

Then copy this letter to your LJ.

It is fun to see where these recipes come from! And we can all use recipes, right?

1 Loin Roast

In crock pot, make a bed of sweet onions and diced potatoes.
Pierce the roast all over and deeply, a boning knife will work nicely.
Insert cloves of garlic into all the slots you've made.
Cover the top of the roast with strips of bacon until fully covered. You might want to pin them on with toothpicks or the like.
Slice in celery and carrots.
With additional sweet onions slices, cover up the roast.

Splash three to four ounces of water in the bottom of the pot.

Put the lid on in the morning, let cook all day on low, 10-12 hours for best results.

pork loin or beef loin?

Also, why use water when you could add flavor? Have you tried wine, beer, or french onion soup?

I'll have to try this, I love crock pot cookin'.

Mormon Funeral Potatoes
grate a whole block (2lb) of cheese, set aside 1/4
toast some mashed corn flakes in about a half a stick of butter, cool
Mix 1 bag cubed potatoes, one tub of sour cream, 1 can of cream of whatever and the majority of the cheese
bake at 350 until the center is bubbly
Mix the reserved cheese with teh cooled corn flakes
Spread the cornflake mix on top of the potatoes, broil until yummy and bubbly.

If you want it, I can look up my Mormon Jell-O cake recipe.

1 c flour
1 c beer (I prefer Guinness)
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1 1/2 lbs white fish (cod, dover sole, flounder)

Enough oil to stand 3" high in a Dutch Oven or other deep pot.

Bring oil up to 375 degrees, with an oil/candy thermometer to keep the oil temperature easily available. Coat slices of fish in batter, dip into oil and cook in batches of 3 pieces each for 5 minutes, until the batter changes to a golden brown color..

Muy Bueno.

This is an excellent opportunity to fry up some old fashioned chips in the same oil, as well.
